Detailed Itinerary of the 11 Days Uganda Camping Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

  • Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you are picked up by a driver who transfers to your hotel.
  • On reaching the hotel, check-in hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Laico Victoria Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

  • Early morning breakfast on the 2nd Day of the 11 Days Uganda Camping Safari then transfer to Murchison Falls National Park a journey that takes  you a period of 3 to 4 hours with en-route views of the green terrain, birds.
  • On your journey, have a brief stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino trekking that takes you a period of 3 hours depending on the location of the Rhinos in their natural vegetation habitat. You meet the Rhinos taking many photos to keep with a camera that has no flash. After trekking the Rhinos, you shall get back to the headquarters.
  • On reaching the headquarters, you shall embark on transfer to Murchison Falls National Park where you enjoy an en-route evening Game Drive to campsite where you set up tents for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Set Camp at the banks of River Nile.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Victoria Nile

  • Breakfast then embark on Morning game drive in the northern sector of the park watching various wildlife animals wandering around their natural vegetation habitat.
  • The wildlife animals you watch include; Giraffes, Buffaloes, Uganda kobs, Bushbucks, Elephants, Hartebeests, Oribs, waterbucks, warthogs, hyenas, lions, leopards, etc. After at mid day, have lunch.
  • Later in the afternoon, proceed on an afternoon Boat Cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the beautiful Murchison Falls as you watch hippos, crocodiles, then after in the evening, you shall return to the banks of the Victoria Nile.
  • Return to Campsite for Dinner and Overnight. Set Camp at the banks of River Nile.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

  • Delicious morning breakfast then embark on transfer to the stunning Kibale Forest National Park famously known to offer amazing Chimpanzee Tracking Adventures in Uganda. The journey takes you a period of 6 to 7 hours with unique views at the green terrain, birds as well as lunch. After a while, you shall reach the park then proceed to the Campsite where you shall set up a camp for Dinner and Overnight.
  • Set up your camp close to the green Kibale Forest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Guided Nature Walk

          • Early morning breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for precise briefing on the conduct around the chimpanzees then later the Guide allocates you into groups of 8 with a lead park ranger guide.
        • You shall be transferred to the starting point where you leave from to enter the green forest to trek the chimpanzees for a period of 2 to 4 hours following various trails in the park as the guide informs you about the park, primates and vegetation terrain of the park. After a while, you shall meet the Chimpanzees and within some hours, you shall watch the chimpanzees and take many photos to keep. After tracking the Chimpanzees, you shall break off for lunch then in the later afternoon, continue for an afternoon guided nature walk along the various trails to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary where you watch various species of birds.
        • The Birds you watch include; Black-crowned Waxbill, White-spotted Flufftail, White-breasted Negrofinch, Yellow-spotted Barbet, Black Bishop, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Bocage’s Bush-shrike, Yellow-billed Barbet, Brown-crowned Tchagra, Black & white Shrike-flycatcher, Western Nicator, Superb Sunbird etc. After bird watching, you shall return to your camp near Kibale Forest for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight.

    Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

        • Morning breakfast on the 6th Day of the 11 Days Uganda Camping Safari then embark on departure to the stunning Queen Elizabeth National Park located a few kilometers off Kibale. The journey takes you a period of 2 to 3 hours via the Ishasha Sector as you view the backdrops of the Rwenzori Mountains at a distance, birds, green terrain vegetation and then lunch en-route.
        • In the evening, you shall proceed on a game drive around the Kasenyi Plains watching many wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat and these include; African elephant, African buffalo, Ugandan kob, hippopotamus, topi, waterbuck, warthog, giant forest hog, Nile crocodile, leopard, spotted hyena, chimpanzee and lion etc. After the Game Drive, you shall proceed to the campsite to arrange then set up a tent/ camp for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Set up camp in the park.

    Day 7: Visit and watch the Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishaha Sector

        • Early morning breakfast then proceed for a Game Drive in the Ishasha sector known to offer amazing views of the tree-climbing lions. Transfer with a park ranger guide who informs you about the Tree Climbing Lions, the vegetation terrain then after a while, you shall meet the tree climbing lions as they seat, relax within the fig tree branches and take various photos of them to keep with you.
        • In the evening after taking photos of the tree climbing lions, you shall return to campsite to set up a camp/ tent to relax, have campfire dinner and Overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

  • On the 8th Day of the 11 Days Uganda Camping Safari, you shall have early morning breakfast then embark on journey to the vast green thick forest of Bwindi National Park. The journey takes you a period of 5 to 6 hours watching the green terrain, birds and Mountain Rwenzori at a distance. With lunch en-route, you shall reach the park and check-in your camp for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. set up camp near the park.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park

  • Very early morning breakfast then proceed to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the majestic Mountain Gorillas. You shall meet the park ranger guide who informs you about the rare species of Mountain Gorillas, green terrain vegetation, bird species etc. After briefing, you are located into groups of 8 with a lead park ranger guide who leads you into the forest to trek the Gorillas for a period of 3 to 5 hours trekking along the various trails in the park.

  • You shall later meet the Gorillas and stay in their presence taking many photos to keep with a camera that has no flash. After trekking the Mountain Gorillas, you shall return back to the headquarters for your Gorilla Trekking Certificate then proceed to the campsite for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

  • Today, have morning breakfast then proceed to Lake Bunyonyi situated in the South Western part of Uganda and known to the second deepest lake in Africa. The journey takes you a period of 3 to 4 hours with en-route views of the green terrain, birds and lunch. After a while, you shall reach the lake.
  • In the Afternoon, embark on a canoe ride which gives you a chance to explore the beautiful lake, Islands as you watch birds then after you shall continue to the campsite for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Camp overnight on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 11: Departure to Entebbe Airport

  • Morning breakfast then with your luggage, embark on departure to the Entebbe International Airport to board your flight back home.
